Implementation of SAKALA

  • The First and only University who implemented SAKALA
  • Identified 70 services of universities which were presented at the meeting of Registrars held on 06.04.2013 for inclusion under SAKALA services. Out of these, 48 services were notified by the Govt. of Karnataka in the Gazette dated 19.06.2013.
  • Successfully implemented SAKALA services in the University from 16.08.2013 with a total of 62 services from 6 sections s of the University including the constituent colleges.
  • The particulars regarding obtaining the SAKALA services such as the days prescribed, work flow, documents to be enclosed while submitting the application and the prescribed fee have been uploaded on the University website www.tumkuruniversity.ac.in.
  • The University has been rendering services under SAKALA with an accuracy of 99.60%.
  • Initiated and tested the implementation of online services under SAKALA in respect of Universities. Online porta yet to be enabled.
  • Action taken in implementation of SAKALA services has been recognised and appreciated by the Govt. vide letter No:ED94 Praka 2014 dt.29th March, 2014. All the Vice Chancellors of the Universities in the State have been informed to adopt Tumkur University model.
  • Sakala Nodal Officer of Tumkur University has been awarded “Best Sakala Nodal Officer” for the year 2014, by Govt. of Karnataka, Awarded to Sri Rajesh Shenoy, System Analyst by Sri Roshan Baig, Hon’ble Minister for Information and Broadcasting along Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Mission Director for Sakala, Govt. of Karnataka.
