Cultural Activities
Tumkur University Cultural Coordination Committee is constituted in the University with an objective of giving a holistic approach to higher education. The Committee intends to create an atmosphere which is intellectually and aesthetically stimulating for the students on the campus. It promotes and motivates the students for the active participation in cultural activities and to preserve “unity in diversity.” This committee helps the students to understand the culture and heritage of the country. It also identifies the hidden talents among the students and provides them with the platform to their exhibit talents in front of large audience, which helps them in future along with academics. The activities are informal and are intended to sensitize the academic world to other dimensions of human experience and knowledge, with the hope that this would enrich the lives of students and make them aware of their social responsibilities and understand the implications of their actions. The Committee’s activities are also aimed to orient them towards the components of equality, justice and a humanist culture. The major events focused by the committee are folkdance, yakshagaana, Bharatnatyam and many more. The Committee is active in conducting many programmes over the years.
