Department of Studies & Research in Business Administration (MBA)

Tumkur University offers a two year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme, with the approval of AICTE, established in the year 2004-2005.the Department offers MBA and Ph.D programmes. The department focuses on providing quality education to the rural masses of Tumkur district, through nurturing young men and women into competent professional managers. The department equips the students with the required interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, leadership skills to innovate and lead as successful business leaders and managers. The department organizes co-curricular and extracurricular activities to sharpen organizing abilities, nurture their leadership qualities team building and creativity among the students.

Activities of Department

The Department has good infrastructure facility organizes seminars, conferences and workshop regularly. Learning is facilitated through ICT and a mix of classroom teaching, seminars, case studies, and industry internship. Industrial visits are organized to provide practical exposure to study the operations and management of the industry. The department strives to provide placements and conducts placement drives. The department has committed and experienced faculty with rich academic and industry experience.

Specialization offered

Eligibility for Admission:

Admission is open, to the Master of Business Administration Course, to all the candidates who possess any Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years’ / four years duration recognized by this university
The candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the years / semesters of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall be not less than 45%.
Admission of the students to the course through PGCET conducted by KEA and as per the norms of the government of Karnataka.
